Chicken curry, a fixture on the Hokkaido table, contains a whole chicken leg with a hotpot of vegetables such as potato, carrots, pimentos, etc. For special zest, help yourself to a drop of miso made by adding all sorts of spices into a soup broth that is a savoury concoction of beef, pork, chicken meat, and vegetables. This miso was first created in Sapporo some 30 years ago.
